When you write a story that someone else has writen or copy someone else's work onto a sheet of paper or onto a Blog you can get sued OR EVEN GET SENT TO JAIL. Copyright law is when nobody (except people who ask) can use anybody else's work such as an author's story, a bands song or a composer's composition. Fair Use is when you can only use a limited amount of work from another person. Public Domain is when you can use work from another person without permission. Plus you can only use 10% of copyrighted work of text, music and videos.
As an extreme this is possible. But the consequences for most students in the long run is missing out on the real learning experience.--Don't you think?
ReplyDeleteChuckie,
ReplyDeleteYou need to really elaborate on the points I outlined in my blog prompt to get full credit for your blogging assignment.
Chuckie, I see that you have added more following your research on plagiarism and copyright. The only thing that I would want to add is that Fair Use is very important to you as a student as it allows for the use of some part of someone else's work without asking the author for permission if the work is used for educational purposes. You still have to give credit to the author, though, at ALL TIMES
ReplyDeleteChuckie, your blog has useful info and very good facts. You told us the consequences of plajorising, but you didn't say anything about how to prevent it. Give some facts about how to keep from getting in these situations so you don't get sued or possibly suspended. Other than that, you're good to go!
